Yakima MOD
Everything In Its Right Place
The MOD is unlike anything else our long-time client Yakima has made. It’s a modular storage system that transforms your crossover, van, or SUV into an adventure vehicle that can tackle everything from grocery runs and beach trips to overland excursions. With nearly endless configurations, it adapts to virtually any lifestyle. Stackable, locking drawers? Check. Gear nets? Yup. Storage crates? Uh-huh. In essence, it’s much more than a single product. Our challenge was to illustrate everything it does in a concise, entertaining way and show customers why they need it. No big deal.

Strategy
It’s challenging to communicate all the options and capabilities of a system as customizable as MOD. We realized early on that the best strategy would be the one that steered clear of overcomplicating things and focused on the basics: people need to carry stuff, and MOD makes it easy.

Development
To hone in on what matters most, we developed a campaign anthem that our creative could rally around: Everything in Its Right Place. This simple statement (an homage to one of the greatest alternative rock songs of all time) informed how we approached our messaging and guided our creative direction for photography and video.
Deployment
MOD is a big deal, but it’s one of those things you need to see to believe. That’s why a custom landing page was the perfect choice to tell the MOD story. By combining video, animations, and punchy copy, we showed exactly what makes the MOD so special without relying on paragraphs of explanation.
Testimonial
“With the advertising market being heavily saturated we needed to cut through the clutter and we knew the Devise team was perfect for the job. And they sure delivered! From the ideation to the attention to detail with props and costumes to the fast turnaround and end result – they crushed it! People will be talking about this campaign for years to come.”
