Different by Design

When Slingshot brought us on board to lend a hand with wrapping up their brand development, we knew it was an opportunity to demonstrate top notch creativity across multiple channels. Slingshot provided a worthy challenge by requesting a brand anthem that speaks to their uniqueness, while also appealing to many types of watersports enthusiasts.

Acknowledging Slingshot’s origin story was a must, as well as their trademark for groundbreaking innovation. When we arrived at the anthem “Different by Design,” we immediately knew we had a winner. It resonated with Slingshot wholeheartedly and became the North Star concept to which we looked to for all extension copy and design work.

“Different by Design” was carefully typeset and added to the new Slingshot logo as an additional version for use. A standalone anthem graphic was also created for ultimate flexibility and use in various applications like apparel, product, and environmental designs. These new brand elements, with their corresponding usage rules, were then added to the brand guide for use by both internal and external teams.
